Santino Drew
Santino is a professional Stock and Options trader. Due to his passion to teach others this skill, he is now the CEO of Wise Money Academy, a Financial Education Service. As a Lead Instructor and Motivational Speaker, he has hosted several seminars, lectures, and workshops. Santino’s purpose is to close the gap between economic classes, “one mind at a time.” He believes that a lack of financial knowledge is one of the main problems we face amongst low-income areas and households, and the only solution is specialized financial education.
After being convicted of a drug conspiracy and sentenced to 20yrs in federal prison, he began his inner search for personal reform. Being in an atmosphere where some of the more sophisticated violators of the law resided, Santino became a sponge for information. He gravitated towards ex-wall street gurus, economists, and individuals who were well acclimated with the world of finance and began his quest to learn all he can about the subject. Ironically, even though he was serving a 20 yr. sentence he was making preparation for his return to society. Santino had committed himself to complete two major tasks. The first was to work relentlessly on his appeal so that he can reverse his conviction and go home. The second was to learn all he can about finance, but more importantly, learn about the criminal mentality that led him there, to begin with. Although he knew that only 2% of federal appeals are heard, and an even smaller number of convictions are reversed, he did not allow himself to be discouraged by those statistics. With only a crack-like size window of opportunity, he was determined to find a way through it. And that he did. After serving only 5 of the 20 years he was sentenced to, Santino won his appeal and was released October 3, 2018, on the birthday of his only child.
While inside he pondered on the injustice and disparities within the criminal justice system. This jump-started his desire to help make a change. Because of this he is now a model for criminal reform providing others with the financial tools to avoid the same traps that his decisions lead him into. “Wealth Is a Mindset” is his token phrase as he believes true wealth should have a positive impact on others.
